Position Title: General Maintenance
Department: Facilities Management
Reports to: Facilities Maintenance & Grounds Supervisor
Appointment: Full-Time; 40 hours per week; Monday – Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Pay rate: $20.93 per hour
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain, repair buildings, including roofs, walls, ceilings, windows, doors, locks, floors, foundations
- operate, maintain and repair equipment, hardware, materials associated with maintenance/repair of buildings, including wallboard, cinder blocks, plaster, paint, glass, ceiling/floor tiles, panic
hardware, band saws, table saws, planers, drills
- inspect and maintain safety equipment
- maintain items in or on buildings, including graphics, insulation, roofs and roof drains
- remodel and renovate existing structures
- fabricate and make in-shop repairs to interior/exterior furniture, accessories
- paint and patch in (but not limited to) offices, rooms, stairwells and common areas;
- bending, lifting, and transporting is necessary
- perform other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with and knowledge of:
- carpentry, construction, renovation, painting, masonry practices and related procedures used in building maintenance and repair
- experience, knowledge, ability to use and maintain materials and related tools, instructions, equipment associated with building maintenance, remodeling and repair
- read, interpret, follow and perform written instructions
- operate equipment with dexterity and safety
- work under supervision as well as alone
- physical agility to perform tasks required
- possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
- good written and verbal communications
- good safety, attendance and past work records
- experience and/or knowledge of masonry practices used in building maintenance and repair
- ability to perform drywall finishing
- ability to read and interpret blueprints is desired.

MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have mental and physical capabilities to perform essential functions of position with or without reasonable accommodation, i.e. stand, bend, reach, climb, etc; tolerate constant or extreme noise; independently handle and lift a minimum 50 pounds; visual ability to operate equipment effectively and safely; hearing ability to hold conversations through earpiece or in person; speaking ability to effectively communicate with other individuals. Work environment is indoor and outdoor.
