Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Specialist to join BrainCheck’s finance team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring smooth and accurate financial operations. You will handle core accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and expense management, while contributing to the financial health and growth of the company.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable/Receivable:
- Process vendor invoices, manage payments, and monitor outstanding accounts
- Generate invoices for customers and oversee collections and payment applications
- Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Ensure the payroll system is updated with the latest information
- Assist with preparation or review of variable compensation amounts
- Reconcile the payroll expense and liability accounts
- Review and process employee expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies
- Support outside accounting service on month-end close tasks
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned
- Maintain accurate records for audits, tax reporting, and company compliance
- Support continuous process improvements for efficiency and accuracy
- Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience: 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a technology start-up
- Proficiency in Quickbooks
- Experience with Gusto, Bill.com, Expensify and Recurly, a plus
- Strong Excel skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment
- Strong communication skills to collaborate cross-functionally with teams
