Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team at our busy veterinary clinic. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for clients and their pets, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations. This role requires a love for animals, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic’s calendar efficiently.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, medications, and pet care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all information is up to date.
- Process payments and handle billing inquiries with professionalism.
- Assist veterinary staff with animal restraint during examinations or procedures as needed.
- Provide information on animal care, medication administration, and other veterinary services to clients.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room.
- Manage inventory of office supplies and veterinary products, placing orders as necessary.
Experience
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care facility is preferred.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and basic animal husbandry practices is highly beneficial.
- Skills in animal handling, restraint techniques, and medication administration are advantageous for this role.
- Experience with kennel operations or animal catheterization is a plus but not required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for managing records and appointments effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with clients, staff, and animals in a compassionate manner.
