What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Product position at BrainGu?
The Director of Product position is a technical and strategic role focused on BrainGu Product. They will work with the entirety of the Product division, coordinate with the PMO and project teams as appropriate. They will report to the Head of Product. They are responsible for owning and driving the whole product lifecycle from design to launch.
Job Duties:
- Reporting to the Head of Product, you will oversee and ensure that the functions of the Product Management team are efficiently and effectively executed.
- You will be responsible for supervising the Product Management team’s analysis of information, formulations of product solutions, and strategies. You are expected to evaluate these proposals prior to authorizing the effect of any solutions and strategies for the product.
- As Director of Product Management, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple product roadmaps and managing all as required for the purpose of meeting deliverables for the business. You are expected to make priorities as determined by the business and market needs.
- Own and manage the whole product lifecycle from design, launch, working closely with all internal functions including engineering and PMO.
- The role is responsible for supporting the Business Development team in engaging with customers on an as required basis.
- In this role you will be working with the Head of Product researching and capturing competitive intelligence and various market analyses to inform direction of roadmaps and as well as opportunities to pursue.
- You will define outcomes and measurable KPIs needed to ensure quality and success of our products going forward. You will establish and monitor OKRs for each Product Team that align with company goals.
- You will be responsible for recruiting and establishing a team of Product Managers and also will perform other duties as required by the Head of Product.
Required Competencies and Certifications
- This position may require you to obtain a US Government Clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
- You should have 10-15 years’ experience in performance of functions as a Director of Product Management and will also have a proven track record in product planning, defining and launching successful products, unifying product portfolios, and working with SaaS business models.
- You will have a track record in working in product development and engineering.
- You will have led teams and demonstrated excellent leadership qualities, with experience in thought leadership and have the ability to influence and inspire the Product Management team in applying various approaches or strategies for the product. In addition, you can demonstrate experience in offering guidance to team members and evaluating their performance.
- You must have leadership and team building, interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration and execution across multiple product management and technical teams.
- As a strong communicator and presenter, you will have experience in making frequent presentations to senior leadership and stakeholders, as well as representing the business and the product in external functions.
- Previous experience using the ability to synthesize diverse and complex information and data and design refined strategies, solutions, workflows, and procedures that are presentable to senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Demonstrable experience as an individual who performs and completes tasks in a timely fashion; adheres to workplace procedures, policies and ethics; is a creative thinker who can develop product solutions on short notice; and who displays calmness and composure in the face of workload, deadlines, and pressure.
- Experience going through the entire product lifecycle for online B2C platforms, integrating feedback into product requirements, driving prioritization, and pre/post-launch execution
Desired Competencies and Certifications
- Master’s Degree in Product Leadership, Business Administration, MIS
- Certification in product management.
- Understanding of PaaS infrastructure
- Experience in program management and project management software, such as Aha!, Confluence, Jira, etc. is desirable.
