Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Team Development:
- Provide strategic guidance and oversight to the General Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Payroll teams.
- Foster a high-performance culture by mentoring and developing team members.
- Operational Financial Management:
- Manage the company’s operational accounting activities, including the General Ledger, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Oversee cash flow, accounts payable, and payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Performance Analysis and Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and operational performance reports.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify key drivers of operational and financial performance.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to align financial goals with operational priorities.
- Monitor capital expenditures and operational budgets to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Process and System Improvement:
- Drive continuous improvement in financial and operational processes, leveraging ERP systems and other technologies to enhance efficiency and reporting.
- Implement robust internal controls to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
- Compliance and Audit Management:
- Oversee the preparation of financial documents for audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage relationships with auditors and tax professionals to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Strategic Partnership:
- Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to provide insights that drive operational excellence and financial sustainability.
- Act as a key advisor in strategic decision-making processes, offering data-driven recommendations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in an operational role.
- Expertise in operational accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems, with experience in Viewpoint/Vista or similar platforms preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with Tableau or Crystal Reports is a plus.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Up to 5% travel required to offices across New York, Vermont, and Massachusetts.
