Brakebush Hartwell is currently seeking a technician specializing in the maintenance and repair of DSI (Direct Steam Injection) equipment, commonly found in food processing plants, where their primary responsibility is to
diagnose issues, perform preventative maintenance, and repair malfunctions related to the DSI system, including its steam generation, injection mechanisms, and control systems
; often requiring strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, as well as knowledge of food safety regulations.
Key responsibilities of a DSI Technician may include:
- Preventative maintenance:
Regularly inspecting DSI equipment for wear and tear, cleaning components, lubricating moving parts, and performing calibration checks to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshooting and repair:
Diagnosing malfunctions in the DSI system by analyzing error codes, checking pressure and temperature readings, and identifying faulty components; replacing worn or damaged parts as needed.
- Electrical and mechanical repairs:
- Performing basic electrical troubleshooting on control panels and wiring, as well as mechanical repairs on steam generators, injection nozzles, and related components.
- System optimization:
Adjusting DSI system parameters to maintain desired steam injection levels and optimize product quality and efficiency.
- Documentation and reporting:
Maintaining detailed service records, including parts used, repairs performed, and system performance data.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check are required.
