About Vogue Summer School

Vogue Summer School invites high school students who are curious and passionate about the world of fashion to experience it first-hand in the heart of New York City—one of the most important fashion capitals in the world. Students will explore a range of topics shaping the industry today and can choose from specialized courses in fashion business, fashion styling, and fashion media.

The program, which consists of four 2-week terms across June and July, will provide students with direct access to fashion-world professionals, and faculty will host daily live sessions. Faculty-guided tours of notable industry sites in NYC will bring a firsthand experience of the fashion world. All courses are taught by fashion industry experts in collaboration with teaching professionals.

Job Summary

Instructors are focused on the well-being and educational experience of our high school students. They are expected to be with the students for 9 weekdays between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM. There are two typical formats for sessions (there may be variations depending on final curriculum schedule and so may be subject to change):

  • Lecture Sessions: Instructors accompany students to a lecture led by an industry expert and facilitate breakout sessions with their assigned group of students.
  • Tutorial Sessions: Instructors guide students through exercises to recap important points/themes, promote independent work, and assist students with assigned projects. They will also escort students to and from off-campus site visits, including travel throughout the five boroughs on the subway system, in collaboration with two Academic Specialists. Instructors also prepare classrooms, convene classes, take attendance, track student progress and wellbeing, communicate daily with program staff, and grade student work.

Before the term begins, Instructors will be responsible for preparing material for the tutorial sessions that builds upon the daily lecture sessions and program site visits. At the end of the term, Instructors fill out a rubric on each student’s performance and write a short narrative evaluation outlining each student’s performance.
