Role and Responsibilities
Assist customers in the yard and over the phone
Ability to operate saws and cut lumber to size for customers
Read and bid building materials such as lumber, siding, windows, doors, and steel off of blueprints provided by customers.
Work in outdoor conditions to help load materials into customers vehicles or trailers.
MUST be able to lift 80 pounds or more unassisted.
Take yearend inventory and stock shelves.
Assist unloading trucks if necessary and operate a forklift.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
Ability to carry out written and oral instructions.
Consult with contractors and customers on building plans and projects.
Prepare material takeoffs and estimates in a timely matter to be used in construction projects, with or without blueprints.
Place orders with vendors and verify the accuracy of order acknowledgements.
Grow sales through relationship management.
