Brandon Valley Veterinary Clinic, P.C. has immediate openings for Veterinary Assistants to join our practice.
We are a single vet practice located in Brandon, SD. We are currently seeking a Veterinary Assistant with high school diploma and prior animal experience. In addition to pet health care and surgeries, we offer ultrasound, digital x-ray, laser therapy, and in house diagnostics such as Abaxis Hematology and Chemistry Analyzer, Fecal Imagyst, and Vetscan UA/SA. The ideal applicant should have a strong work ethic, ability to work well with others, positive attitude, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment. We strive to provide excellent and compassionate care to all patients. We are willing to work with and train the right candidate with no prior experience in a veterinary clinic.
Responsibilities included but not limited to:
- Greeting clients/patients
- Ability to learn practice’s computer software (AVImark)
- Processing appointments (Processing appointments includes taking history, relaying information from vet to client, preparing vaccines, checking in surgery patients)
- Answering client inquiries about services/products- in person or over the phone
- Supporting other team members
Other Responsibilities:
- Assist the veterinarian in exam rooms
- Restrain patients
- Process samples in house (Abaxis HM5, Abaxis VetscanVS2, Fecal Imagyst, Urine analyzers, Cytology)
- Assist with diagnostic imaging (Digital radiographs, Digital ultrasound, Thermal Scans)
- Perform laser therapy
- Administer vaccines and medications (oral, topical, injectable)
- Fill prescriptions and review directions with clients
- Provide compassionate patient care

Full time
- Either four 10 hour shifts or five 8 hour shifts
- Rotating Saturday shifts – approximately one weekend every 2 months (Saturday mornings practice is open 8am-noon)
Part time

-Can choose to work from 10 to 40 hours per week
-Occasional weekend shift
Qualifications - Education/ Experience:
- Veterinary Assistant - High school diploma or equivalent and prior animal experience

Pay: From $14.00 per hour
