Permit Technician
Full Time
In-Office in Tallahasee, FL.
Hourly Pay Rate: $15 per hour
Brandt Information Services, LLC, contract vendor for a State Agency Department of Transportation, is looking for a motivated, qualified candidate to serve as a permit technician for the overweight/over-dimensional permitting office.
Responsibilities:
- Assist customers with questions regarding permit status, price, routing, and restrictions.
- Route applications with resources provided by Office of Maintenance (OOM) (manual or GIS).
- Become familiar with Florida Administrative Code 14-26 & Florida Statute 316.515.
- Contact Districts as needed.
- Check vehicle configurations.
- Ensure restricted structures are not crossed.
- Provide alternate routes to customers.
- Become familiar with locations within Florida (maps).
- Respond to Emergency requests and update/forward to OOM as needed.
- Assist enforcement with vehicles stopped at scale facilities and expedite requests.
- Ensure the Permit Application System (PAS) is generating correct route/restrictions.
- Verify PAS is analyzing all structures.
- Check for necessary documentation needed for permit issuance.
- Perform the duties of a Blanket Technician.
- Work cohesively with other coworkers.
- Display a positive work attitude.
- Communicate effectively (verbally and in writing).
- Use time effectively.
- Other duties as directed.
- Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and work ethic.
- Work cohesively with other coworkers.
