ANNOUNCEMENT NO. 04525
TITLE: Permit Technician
DEPARTMENT: Permits & Inspections
LOCATION: 327 N Ashley St.
SALARY RANGE: $17.49 per hour
JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for assisting the public with permit applications, reviews application and documents for accuracy and completeness, explains codes and regulations, and processes payments and fees for permits. Processes inspection ticket request and enters request into system. Monitors expired permits and notifies permit holders or requirements. Monitors permit software for new projects and processes new and existing projects in a timely manner. Answers telephone and greets visitors; provides information and assistance. Processes resident complaints. Processes open records requests. Performs other related duties as needed.
MINIMUM TRAINING: Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years. Possession of ICC Permit Tech Certification or the ability to obtain ICC Permit Technician Certification within 6 months. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
