We enhance the quality of life by creatively providing Education, Advocacy, Prevention, Early Intervention and Treatment Services. We promote hope and empowerment to persons and families touched by mental illness, substance abuse, HIV and multiple occurring diagnoses, and their related challenges.
BCCS believes that PEER SUPPORT SPECIALIST’s play a crucial role in the recovery process as individuals attempt to navigate the behavioral health system.
As a TCM Peer Support Specialist with BCCS, you will :
- Assist in this process by supporting and assisting the clients through the program.
- Assist the clients in gaining entitlements and accessing resources within the community.
- Provide guidance and assist clients in overcoming barriers and challenges in their recovery journey.
- Act as case managers and will assist clients in obtaining resources such as food, clothing, vouchers, housing, linkage to employment services, legal, linkage to healthcare, transportation, mental health, childcare, and social services.
- Provide crisis intervention and connect individuals to community resource services.
- Educate and empower individuals by assisting them in developing a strong, stable recovery support system.
- Assisting individuals with self-care and self-awareness, encouragement and support, teaching coping skills, connecting clients to outside resources and teaching the positive benefits of long-term recovery.
- This is a community-based position so work will be performed outside of an office setting up to 100% of the time.
