What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimating Manager position at Brask, Inc.?
Basic Functions:
To establish and implement consistent procedures to be used by all estimators. To manage a team of approximately 8-10 Estimating Engineers by establishing assignments, schedules, and priorities and checking their work for technical correctness and compliance with corporate procedures.
Major Duties:
- Review and improve existing estimating procedures, confirming departmental consistency
- Establish and guide departmental and employees’ roles and objectives
- Assign, schedule, and prioritize workload among the Estimating department
- Review all technical proposals for design correctness and compliance with estimating procedures
- Ensure compliance with established deadlines
Qualifications:
Knowledge –
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, with minimum of 10 years relevant experience. Thorough understanding of design per ASME Sec VIII Div. 1, as well as fabrication and estimating methods related to pressure vessel and heat exchanger manufacturing.
In-depth knowledge of the various Materials of Construction in ASME Sec. II.
Basic understanding of thermal process & familiarity with HTRI
Skills –
Read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications.
Exceptional communication skills, including technical writing.
Work independently, able to organize self and others
Must be consistent in thought processes and work methodology
