Job Description
David Weekley Homes is seeking an Estimating Manager who will be responsible for on-time and accurate estimating of material quantities to build homes.
Primary Functions include :
- Manages estimating priorities and schedule
- Staff, Lead and Develop estimating team
- Maintain estimating standards across the organization
- Coordinates with team to understand workload
- Liaison with Design Team to maintain consistency of plans and value engineering opportunities
- Employs and manages internal and external resources to provide material quantities
- Coordinates with divisional and area purchasing to understand and correct estimating-based variance / plan changes
- Manages soft cost amounts for communities
- Conduct Community Set-up meetings to ensure proper budgets to avoid variance
- 3-5 Years in Residential Construction Operations
- 2 Years in Construction Purchasing to include estimating, construction, and negotiation
- Bachelors Degree in Business, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related degree
- Excellent negotiation skills with demonstrated success in this area
- Read and thoroughly understand residential blueprints
- Strong math and excel computer skills are essential and exposure to JD Edwards is beneficial
