JOB OVERVIEW:
A production operator operatesmachinery, understand dimensional tolerances; read blueprints and perform set-up on various parts and punch presses.Should have a basic understanding of cutting dies, shop travelers and quality procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Run production machinery with care and efficiency.
Ensure that shop travelers are documented complete.
Notify quality when first article inspections are required and report any scrap parts.

Maintain a clean and clutter-free work area.
ReportIssues withtools/machinesthat requirerepairand/or replacement.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
One year ofrelated experience and/or training,or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Certificate from college or technical schoolspecific to Machine Operationa plus
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS &COMPETENCIES:
Ability to read, understand and perform standard procedures and work instructions
Intermediatemechanical skills required
Intermediatemath and logic skillsrequired
Intermediatecomputer skills and software useexperiencerequired
TRAVEL / WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Travel - typically not required
Position typically works in a manufacturing environment on site where environmental conditions are stable. May be exposed to higher levels of noise typical in a manufacturing environment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit or stand for extended periods of time; use hands to finger,andoperate manual and non-manual machinery; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, stretchand lift up to20pounds
