Position Overview
The Brattleboro Area Chamber of Commerce (BACC) is seeking a dynamic and experienced full-time Executive Director to lead our organization into its next phase of growth and community impact. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will oversee the Chamber’s operations, build membership, foster relationships with local organizations, and actively promote the region as a destination for businesses and tourists alike.

The BACC supports its members through marketing, advocacy, and education to foster sustained growth and success in Windham County, Vermont. We are the leading business and community organization in the region, serving as the go-to organization for both members and visitors exploring the area.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
- Oversee the daily operations of the Chamber, including staff management and program development.
- Develop and implement strategic plans that align with the Chamber’s mission and Board priorities.
- Serve as the principal spokesperson and ambassador for the Chamber at events, in the media, and within the community.
- Manage the Chamber’s budget, ensuring alignment with financial goals and resources.
Marketing
- Drive marketing strategies to promote the region and Chamber members to both residents and travelers.
- Serve as the main contact for media inquiries, managing the Chamber’s website and social media presence.
- Develop initiatives to promote the region as a complete live, work and play destination.
Collaboration
- Advocate for the needs of Chamber members within their local communities and the region through advocacy with local and state governmental agencies.
- Collaboration with existing regional organizations to amplify marketing and regional voice.
- Establish partnerships with regional organizations to strengthen community ties and expand the Chamber’s influence.
Membership Growth & Outreach
- Develop and execute strategies to attract and retain members within the local business community.
- Build strong relationships with members, local leaders, and organizations to promote growth and engagement.
- Represent the Chamber at local government meetings, community events, and regional conventions.
Event Planning & Execution
- Plan, coordinate, and execute Chamber events, fostering networking and visibility opportunities for members.
- Secure sponsorships and oversee fundraising activities to support events and Chamber initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Board and volunteers to ensure smooth execution of events, including logistical and marketing support.
Qualifications
- Experience in business administration, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
- Strong skills in strategic planning, financial management, and Board relations.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, sponsorship acquisition, and generating new revenue streams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse audience.
- Tech-savvy, with experience in managing websites, social media platforms, and financial systems.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $55,000–$60,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Employment Terms
This position includes a 90-day probationary period, followed by an annual performance evaluation conducted by the Board of Directors.
