Job Summary: The caregiver will provide essential personal care and support services to clients in their homes. This includes assisting with daily living activities, offering companionship, and ensuring a clean and safe living environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of others and a commitment to maintaining the highest level of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Help with mobility and transfers, including assistance with walking, using a wheelchair, and positioning.
- Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
- Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment.
- Help clients with medication reminders and ensure they take medications as prescribed.
- Monitor clients' physical and emotional condition, report any changes to the supervising nurse or family members.
- Assist with transportation to appointments or social outings, if needed.
- Follow individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each client.
- Ensure the client’s safety and well-being at all times, including emergency response if necessary.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of care provided.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications (CNA, HHA, etc.) preferred.
- Previous caregiving experience, preferably in home care or a healthcare setting.
- Ability to follow care plans and instructions from medical professionals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, compassion, and reliability.
- Ability to lift or assist with lifting clients as necessary (depending on the client’s needs).
- Willingness to undergo background checks and screenings.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
