Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Groundworker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for outdoor work and possess a variety of landscaping skills. This role involves performing essential tasks related to landscape maintenance, including but not limited to mowing, tree care, and hardscaping. As a Groundworker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the beauty and functionality of outdoor spaces.
Responsibilities
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently for various landscaping tasks.
- Perform lawn care activities such as mowing, edging, and fertilization to maintain healthy grass and plant life.
- Assist in hardscape projects, including building patios, walkways, and retaining walls.
- Engage in landscape maintenance tasks such as planting, weeding, mulching, and pruning trees and shrubs.
- Conduct snow plowing during winter months to ensure safe access to properties.
- Dig trenches or holes for planting or installation of landscape features as required.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and to the highest standards of quality.
- Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition by cleaning and performing routine checks.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with power tools (e.g., lawn mowers, trimmers) and hand tools (e.g., shovels, rakes).
- Knowledge of hardscape installation techniques is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions effectively.
- A valid driver's license may be required for transporting equipment or traveling between job sites.
