What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Director of Development and Partnerships position at BRAVE/R Together?
The Development and Partnerships Director will lead and manage the strategic planning, execution, and oversight of fundraising initiatives and daily operations to support organizational growth. This position will be instrumental in driving the financial sustainability and operational efficiency of the organization through robust fundraising strategies, strong relationship management, and the implementation of operational systems.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies, including major gifts, corporate sponsorships, foundation grants, individual donations, and special events.
- Donor Relations: Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors, ensuring consistent engagement and recognition.
- Grant Writing: Identify funding opportunities, write proposals, and manage the grant application process from submission to reporting.
- Fundraising Events: Plan, manage, and execute special events to support fundraising goals, including sponsorship acquisition, logistics, and donor stewardship.
- Revenue Growth: Identify and explore innovative revenue streams to diversify funding sources and expand organizational capacity.
- Reporting: Develop and present regular reports on fundraising progress to the Executive Director and board of directors.
Operations Management (25%):- Leadership & Oversight: Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure alignment with organizational goals, including managing administrative functions, staff, and resources.
- Budget Management: Collaborate with the finance team to develop, monitor, and adjust the organizational budget, ensuring alignment with fundraising projections and operational needs.
- Human Resources: Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training processes; ensure compliance with HR policies and practices.
- Systems & Processes: Design and implement efficient operational systems, including data management, workflow processes, and internal communications to enhance productivity and accountability.
- Facilities & Technology: Ensure the efficient management of physical resources, including office space, equipment, and technology systems.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure the organization complies with all legal, regulatory, and funder requirements; manage organizational risk and implement necessary safeguards.
Experience
- A strong track record of achieving tangible fundraising outcomes in a competitive field
- Senior leadership development and/or philanthropy experience in a nonprofit,educational, or public service environment (typically 6-8 years)
- Experience responding effectively to shifting and evolving fundraising priorities
- Experience cultivating and maintaining investors in a mission-driven organization
- Experience cultivating and securing major grants and/or high-net-worth individual investors
