Shift Timing: Night Shift (4PM - 2AM)
We are looking for a Construction Safety professional with at least 5 years of experience, who is a team player, and willing to work the night shift from 4 PM to 2 AM, six days a week. The only specific qualification required is OSHA 30-hour certification.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Safety Specialist with a strong background in construction safety, building electrical systems. The Safety Specialist will be responsible for implementing and managing safety programs to ensure a safe working environment on construction sites, particularly those involving complex electrical installations. This role requires a proactive approach to safety, extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations, and the ability to work closely with construction teams to mitigate risks.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Program Management: Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety programs tailored to construction projects, with a focus on electrical safety and compliance with OSHA standards.
Site Inspections: Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on construction sites to identify potential hazards, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and recommend corrective actions.
Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into safety incidents, near misses, and accidents. Analyse root causes and develop preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with OSHA regulations, local building codes, and industry standards. Ensure all construction activities comply with applicable safety laws and regulations.
Risk Assessment: Perform risk assessments for construction projects, particularly those involving electrical systems. Work with project managers and engineers to develop safe work practices and procedures.
Reporting: Maintain detailed records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, and compliance audits. Prepare and submit reports to management on safety performance and areas for improvement.
Collaboration: Work closely with construction teams, subcontractors, and site supervisors to promote a culture of safety. Provide guidance and support in the implementation of safety measures.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Construction Management, or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction safety, with a focus on electrical safety. Experience with large-scale commercial construction projects.
Certifications: OSHA 30 within the last 5 years. Additional certifications in electrical safety, first aid, and other relevant areas are highly desirable.
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of OSHA regulations, particularly those related to construction and electrical work. Familiarity with NFPA 70E standards is a plus.
Skills: Strong communication, training, and leadership skills. Ability to influence and engage workers at all levels of the organization.
Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly assess situations and implement effective safety solutions.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including construction sites and outdoor locations.
Ability to lift and carry safety equipment, conduct inspections, and perform physical tasks related to safety assessments.
