What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy District Clerk, Sr. position at Brazoria County?
Maintain accurate records for the District Clerk's Office and the district courts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: May include any of the following representative duties, knowledge, and skills. This is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and duties performed and employees may be assigned duties which are not listed below. Employees are required to be in attendance and prepared to begin work at their assigned work location on the specified days and hours. Regular attendance is required
Maintain accurate records of all documents and files
Maintain records of all exhibits in court cases and assist attorneys, court staff, and/or the public in accessing exhibits
Maintain a journal and index of historical records
Check all loose papers
Process copy requests, record search requests, and background checks by email, fax, mail and/or face to face customers
Answer jury calls and reschedule jurors when needed
Answer phones and direct calls to proper departments
Open, file stamp, and sort incoming mail
Receipt and maintain payment records
Shred sensitive documents after checking the images
Open, close, and audit a till
Maintain confidentiality of records as required by law
File and process paperwork filed over the counter, through the mail (USPS), and/or through the electronic service providers
Assist the public with the public computers
Any other duties assigned by the District Clerk or designee
Qualifications:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES:
High school diploma or equivalent or at the discretion of the District Clerk or designee.

County and state legal principles, practices, procedures regarding the court system
