Brazos County Emergency Services District No. 4 (“District”) is seeking qualified applicants to fill the position of Part-Time Firefighter /EMT-Basic.
Responsibilities:
Perform a wide variety of technical tasks and functions in support of fire suppression, fire prevention, emergency medical services,rescue and hazardous material operations.The Part-Time Firefighter will be assigned to work ten (10) hour on-duty shifts based on availability.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions:
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
1. Work cooperatively with other BCESD No. 4 Department employees, members, and the public
2. Work at heights greater than ten (10) feet.
3. Perform all duties related to fire rescue, including connecting and carrying fire hose, carrying, and setting up ladders,
directing water and chemicals on burning structures, vegetation,vehicle, and other objects.
4. Hazardous material response.
5. Communicate with customers, clients, or the public in face-to-face, and/or one on one settings, email, and telephone.
6. Disaster assistance.
7. Tolerate extreme fluctuations in temperature while performing job duties.
8. Work for long periods of time requiring sustained physical activity and intense concentration.
9. Demonstrate acuity and ability of use of sense of sight and hearing to help determine the nature of an emergency and

16. Maintain required certification.

at the time of hiring.
2. Hold minimum current certification as an EMT-Basic by the Texas Department of Health and Services or higher.
3. Must have a valid Texas Class B Exempt License.
4. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Must be able to read, write and fluently speak English.
5. Must have Two (2) years of experience in a paid or Part-Time paid Fire Department.
6. Must have Wildland S 130/190 certifications.
7. High School Diploma or equivalent.
8. Must be 18 years of age or older.
9. Pass District Physical Agility Test (“PAT”)
10. Pass a background check.
11. Pass a medical exam and drug screen test.
