Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian Doctor Assistant or Equine Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for equine care and possess the necessary skills to provide exceptional veterinary services to horses and donkeys.
Duties:
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals
- Follow treatment plans and administer medications
- Assist with surgical procedures as needed
- Provide support to doctor with exams, billing and handling of patients
- Communicate effectively with team
-Keep a clean and organized workspace for doctors
- Maintain accurate medical records
Requirements:
-Horse handling
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology and veterinary procedures
- Experience with X-ray diagnostics
- Proficiency in equine handling, restraint, and care
- Familiarity with veterinary technician duties
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-Must be able to work outdoors in the heat and cold weather
-Must be able to jog horses for lameness exams, bend, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds
