Breaking Ground's programs and services help people experiencing street homelessness - especially those who have been on the streets the longest - to come indoors. Through our Street to Home outreach program and transitional housing resources, we help people get, and stay, on the path to a permanent home.
POSITION SUMMARY :
Reporting to the Senior Director, Outreach, the Operations and Logistics Director manages the day-to-day operations of the Street to Home Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan outreach programs including vehicle fleet and facilities management, budgetary oversight, and supervision of support operations for the programs. The Director oversees the 311 Dispatch team, ensuring 24 / 7 coverage and efficient response service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Supervise Operations Specialists, Entitlement Specialist, and 311 Dispatch Manager.
- Responsible for oversight of 311 dispatch team including deployment, reporting, and follow-up with partner agencies.
- Oversee the local responsibilities of fleet management for 40 vehicles.
- Ensure timely submission of accident reports and follow-up, develop systems of accountability to ensure vehicles are operated in a safe and professional manner. Ensure all vehicle repairs and service claims are resolved.
- Respond as necessary to accidents; ensure workflows and procedures are followed appropriately.
- Provide fiscal management, budget oversight, maintain vendor contracts, and coordinate facility repairs and maintenance for all Street to Home programs.
- Coordinate and oversee quarterly, borough-wide census counts and special initiatives.
- Assist with coordinating the yearly HOPE Count.
- Conduct and coordinate regular inspections of vehicles and facilities for safety.
- Maintain and update lease agreements, MOUs, and vendor agreements.
- Ensure the teams’ IT needs are met.
- Oversee compliance with government contract, subcontracting, and purchasing rules.
- Act as a main point of contact with partner agencies for technical and systems support.
- Oversee inventory management including the timely reporting to DHS.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
