What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeper position at Breakwater Inn?
This position is for a housekeeper who is responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in each of our 35 Inn rooms, lobby and common areas. The role includes cleaning checked out rooms, doing laundry for linen and towels and refreshing rooms for guests who continue their stay.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Qualified candidates must be able to satisfactorily complete the following responsibilities. (Other duties may be assigned.)
- Thoroughly cleans guest rooms, including; making beds, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, dusting and rechecking your own work for accuracy
- Straightens furniture and fixtures
- Brings laundry to laundry room, does laundry and keeps laundry room clean and organized.
- Maintains good pace while cleaning guest rooms
- Has to be willing to work holidays (if needed)
- weekend availability

- Responds to guests in an appropriately friendly manner at all times
- Strong customer service skills
- Adaptability
- Has to be able to communicate well with guests and co-workers.
- Ability to stand and walk for hours at a time
- Ability and willingness to work a varied schedule which includes working holidays and weekends
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, walk, and lift linen/boxes (up to 15 pounds).
