Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical records and patient information to ensure accurate claim processing This position’s primary focus is creating and submitting accurate medical claims to patients and insurance companies for timely reimbursement.
- Assign appropriate medical codes using ICD-10 coding systems
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for medical procedures, Ensure that insurance policy coverage aligns with the submitted claim, and confirm the accuracy of patient information.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement
- Reviewing Claims: They assess insurance claim submissions, carefully examining the information provided to verify accuracy and policy adherence.
- Verification: Adherence to Regulations: Processing and verifying insurance claims following company policies, laws, and regulations.
- Payment Processing: Handling the processing of claim payments and corresponding with insurance payers.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any billing discrepancies or denials
- Communicate with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies regarding billing inquiries, disputes, and balances owed.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Update and maintain patient records in electronic medical billing systems
- Optimizing Processes: Implementing best practices in invoice management optimizes business processes and streamlines financial workflows, contributing to overall efficiency and patient satisfaction.
- Cross train with receptionist to be able to fill in as needed
- Cross train with office manager to be able to fill in as needed
Skills: The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- Comfortable talking to patients about money and the cost of our services
- Proactive & real-time solution-focused approach and ability to build value for BreatheWorks treatment and costs
- Strong phone skills and ability to connect with patients on both inbound and outbound calls.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous proven success in a medical billing and coding role.
- Strong communication, listening, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills to build trust and ensure patient success.
- Strong analytical thinking skills to assess invoices for validity and adherence to policies, laws, and regulations.
- Proficiency with technology including, but not limited to, Google G Suite products, telehealth video technologies, and patient healthcare databases.
- Ability to enter data promptly and accurately in EHR.
- A desire to grow in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Adherence to ethical standards and principles, ensuring the highest level of patient care.
Pay
- $28 to $40 per hour, depending on qualifications.
