The Important Work You Will Be Doing
As a Drafter, you will coordinate the collection of data and integrate this information into shop drawings for tile and stone installations and fabrication. You will work closely with Project Managers, Estimators, Schedulers, and the Field department to prepare, review, and present shop drawings, ensuring alignment with project specifications and deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Collect structural materials required for designs and calculate dimensions, weight limitations, and measurements.
- Draft designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Create diagrams and layouts to illustrate the workflow of designs.
- Collaborate with the design team and review drawings for accuracy and clarity.
- Adjust designs based on feedback from Project Managers, Estimators, Schedulers, and the Field department.
- Ensure all designs comply with company regulations and quality standards.
- Set up drawing formats and configuration files.
- Assist with other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education/Experience: At least 2-3 years of AutoCAD education or experience.
- Full-Time/In-Office Position: Requires working on-site.
- Preferred: College degree though not required.
- Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to read architectural construction drawings.
- Experience with Bluebeam or Adobe for reading drawings.
- Basic knowledge of Revit or SolidWorks is a plus but not required.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask effectively and meet deadlines.
- Positive attitude and ability to collaborate with team members and clients.
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and listening).
Working Environment
- Primarily an office-based role with potential travel to job sites.
- Occasional physical tasks such as standing, walking, sitting, and lifting up to 45 pounds.
- Some exposure to office equipment noise and job-site conditions.
- Requires occasional extended hours and the ability to travel between job sites and Brekhus facilities.
- A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance are required for those driving in the course of work.
