As a Sales Design Consultant at Brekhus Tile & Stone, you will be responsible for representing the company during the sales, design, and construction phases of customer projects. You will manage customer projects from start to finish, ensuring they receive exceptional service, expert design guidance, and high-quality products.
Responsibilities (Specific Job Duties)
- Customer Interaction & Sales Support:
- Greet walk-in customers and respond to phone and online inquiries.
- Introduce Brekhus Tile & Stone and the services we offer to potential clients.
- Provide exceptional customer service to multiple clients simultaneously, ensuring timely support and courteous interaction.
- Collaborate with the showroom team and supervisor to ensure showroom coverage during store operation hours.
- Meet and exceed sales quotas while working to increase revenue from both new and existing customers.
- Maintain and organize the slab yard for efficient access and display.
- Proactively initiate sales and provide ongoing support to customers throughout all phases of their projects.
- Stay informed about the latest trends and innovations in the tile and slab industry to provide relevant, up-to-date advice to clients.
- Offer expert consultation in project design, helping clients select materials that align with their vision and needs.
- Communicate proactively and professionally with both team members and clients.
- Cultivate positive working relationships with both new and returning clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Complete administrative tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
- Provide feedback and suggestions to management aimed at improving sales processes, efficiency, and overall operations.
- Follow Brekhus policies and procedures, including those outlined in the Employee Handbook and Safety & Health Manual, as well as federal and state OSHA regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
- Billing and Accounts Receivable:
- Collaborate with Cost Accountants: Work with cost accountants on a weekly basis to review change orders and ensure timely invoicing for completed work, minimizing delays in billing.
- Accounts Receivable (A/R) Tracking: Partner with the accounting team to track outstanding A/R, ensuring the timely collection of payments and addressing any discrepancies promptly.
- Collaboration with Fabrication Shop and Subcontractors:
- Fabrication Shop Coordination: Work closely with the Fabrication Shop to ensure that orders are processed correctly, and products are fabricated in a timely manner for residential projects.
- Subcontractor Coordination: Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution, monitoring their performance to ensure adherence to quality standards and project deadlines.
- General Collaboration:
- Showroom Operations: Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to ensure smooth showroom operations, providing seamless experience for clients.
- Team Coordination: Work with design consultants to deliver cohesive and unified client experience throughout the sales, design, and construction process.
Requirements (Qualifications)
- 3-5 years of experience in Tile & Stone Sales required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- A strong understanding of design principles.
- A self-starter with a professional and responsible demeanor.
- Experience with the SAGE100 project management system preferred.
- Knowledge of On-Screen Takeoffs and the ability to read blueprints is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle common workplace situations with professionalism and maturity.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, along with an understanding of raw materials and the installation process.
- Strong problem-solving skills related to project issues.
