Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to join our team in the Beverage production sector. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Food or Beverage production with a strong preference for beverage production experience and at least 2 years of experience operating packaging lines. This role requires a strong focus on overseeing daily operations, troubleshooting, process improvement, and ensuring all production goals are met with limited downtime. The Operations Manager will be responsible for maintaining a food-safe work environment, developing and implementing SOPs, and ensuring compliance with GMP/SQF standards.
Key Responsibilities:
-Oversee day-to-day operations of the production team to ensure tasks are completed on schedule with minimal downtime.
-Lead the operation of packaging lines, ensuring they run efficiently and meet production targets.
-Troubleshoot issues related to both processes and machinery, quickly identifying root causes and implementing solutions to maintain production flow.
-Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve processes and maintain high standards of operation.
-Ensure the CIP (Clean-In-Place) and sanitization processes for tanks, machinery, and packaging lines are thoroughly followed to ensure safety and compliance.
-Operate and maintain a food-safe environment in compliance with industry regulations, focusing on sanitation, food safety, and quality control.
-Supervise and train team members on proper equipment usage, safety procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
-Manage and enforce GMP/SQF standards in production, with an emphasis on documentation, record keeping, and maintaining accurate logs for audits and compliance.
-Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, streamline production workflows, and improve throughput.
-Ensure strict adherence to production schedules, with a focus on meeting client deadlines.
-Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and quality of work, contributing to the overall success of the team.
Qualifications:
-Minimum of 5 years of experience in Food or Beverage production, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience operating packaging lines.
-Strong troubleshooting skills related to both production processes and machinery.
-Proven experience in developing and implementing SOPs to improve operational efficiency.
-Expertise in CIP, sanitization of tanks, and cleaning procedures for machinery and packaging lines.
-Experience in managing and maintaining a food-safe work environment, with a strong understanding of food safety regulations and practices.
-Working knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards, with an emphasis on documentation and record keeping.
-History of identifying efficiencies and successfully implementing improvements to positively impact flow.
-Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
-Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Additional Skills (Preferred):
-Experience with automation and control systems in a food production environment.
-Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles to drive continuous improvement.
-Certification in Food Safety, GMP, or SQF-related programs is a plus.
