What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT MES Technician position at Brembo North America?
Main responsibilities
- Install, administer, and support MES and shop floor IIoT systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Work closely with plant management and users to troubleshoot and maintain manufacturing applications and reports for the MES and IIoT areas.
- Support data queries and data validation activities.
- Assist with requirements gathering for the integration of the MES with other applications used by the plants.
- Work with business teams to identify continuous improvement opportunities to the existing MES practices, processes, and tools.
- Ensure that network configurations are in line with Corporate guidelines, collaborating actively with the other members of the IT department.
- Apply both corporate and regional security requirements for all solutions.
- Ensure that MES architecture is maintained and updated as needed, patching the OS and or application as instructed.
- Define and monitor KPIs for the MES and IIoT solutions.
- Provide 1st level manufacturing support while working with third party vendors. Monitor and address any issues that may impact the defined KPIs, producing corrective actions and resolution.
- Support daily activities to allow timely resolution of the issues and meet the defined KPIs.
- Provide training to end users for applicable shop floor systems.
- Escalate to Regional COE of Manufacturing Lead, Second or Third level support incidents or request.
Preferred qualifications
- 3 years of experience with manufacturing execution systems and IT systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of industrial connectivity (OPC UA, FOCAS, MQTT, TCP/IP, etc.).
- Understanding of PLC and CNC functions.
- Working knowledge of licensing agreements involving software.
- Understanding of Relational Database: SQL Server, database views, database queries, stored procedures.
- Proven experience connecting to and/or automating industrial systems.
- Experience with administering Windows and Linux-based operating systems.
- Experience with PTC Thingworx, Kepware are a huge plus.
- Experience with no SQL databases and time-series data a plus.
- Ability to lead, execute, and complete projects at the site level.
- Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be proficient in the use of MS Office tools.
- Must be a self-starter able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated punctuality in tasks and work habits.
- Must possess excellent English skills.
Salary : $65,000 - $85,000
