What are the responsibilities and job description for the Air Set position at BREMER MANUFACTURING CO?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Operate Airset molding equipment to produce sand molds in which molten aluminum is poured to create castings.
- In this process, the molder / operator is required to set up the equipment (such as patterns), as well as monitor and produce molds that comply with work instructions as indicated on operation cards and production schedules.
- Work synchronously with sand control, the pourer, and the shakeout personnel to produce molds to expected standards and quality.
- Monitor the quality of the product as it is molded and cast by working with the Quality personnel, supervisors, as well as conduct quality checks as needed when the job or conditions warrant.
- Preventative maintenance as required and directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- When not making molds, the operator serves as a foundry handyperson, performing jobs such as core making, pouring, shakeout and furnace tending; other duties may be assigned as the workload requires.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area.
- Responsible to wear PPE as directed and adhere to all safety procedures.
- Contribute to team activities, which would include process and safety improvement.
- Other tasks as assigned.
