sufficient.
Job Description:
- Tends equipment units and/or semiautomatic systems that processes chemical substances into industrial or consumer products.
- Transfers specified amounts of materials into heating vessels or blending tanks; and turn valves to feed liquid and gaseous materials through equipment units or sets controls in specified sequence on control panel to start automatic feed.
- Turns valves or moves controls to maintain system at specified temperature, pressure, and vacuum levels.
- Observes chemical reactions; monitors gauges, signals, and recorders; and receives notification from control laboratory, supervisor, or other workers to make specified operating adjustments.
- Receives raw materials for production process and assists with quality confirmation process and maintaining inventory, including but not limited to barge, railcar, tank truck, tote/drum quantities.
- Loads out finished products for transport to customers, including but not limited to barge, railcar, tank truck, tote/drum quantities.
- Draws samples of products for laboratory analysis.
- Maintains log of gauge readings, process rounds, and shift production.
- Completes appropriate quality, security, and shipping paperwork for associated loads and materials.
- May perform chemical tests on product to ensure conformance with specifications, using standard test equipment, materials, and procedure.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Your Profile
Education and Experience:
- Must be able to certify on assorted mobile equipment (forklift, heavy equipment).
- Computer and math (basics) literate.
- Effective oral and written communication skills. Able to read and write in English.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Ability to operate plant equipment.
- Must be detailed oriented and have a safety-first approach to all tasks.
- Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (i.e. respirators, Tyvek suits, protective boots, hearing protection, etc.).
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk, hear, or smell. The employee is frequently required to walk and stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment. Plant environment and exposure to chemicals.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen, fit for duty test and background check.
