What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Music Educator position at Brentwood School?
Brentwood School, one of Gainesville's most trusted private schools, is looking for an experienced, Elementary Music teacher to join our staff for the 2025-2026 school year.
Responsibilities include:
- Teach students Kindergarten - grade 5 the foundations of Music, (choral singing, music history and theory, simple instruments, group performances).
- Specialist teachers plan, prepare and deliver a developmentally appropriate and creatively engaging grade level program for each class.
- Provide active and engaging hands-on experiences as part of the curriculum.
- Assess and document each student’s progress and provide regular feedback to students and their classroom teachers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s and/or Master's degree in Music Education or relevant field of study.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a teacher in similar position preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of various learning styles and differentiated instruction.
- The ability to work positively and professionally with students, parents and faculty.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 20 per week
