What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Person - Food Service Department (part time) position at Brentwood Union School District (Northern California)?
Primary Function: Under general supervision, coordinate and participate in the receiving, storing, maintenance of inventory and accompanying records for warehouse operations and coordinate and participate in the delivery of District materials, supplies, equipment, and mail.
Performance Responsibilities:
„h Maintain storage/warehouse facilities in a clean, safe, secure and orderly condition.
„h Maintain all warehouse equipment and vehicles for safe and efficient operation (i.e., vans and forklift)
„h Coordinate the receiving and distribution of material, equipment and supplies into and out of the District warehouse
„h Plan and organize day-to-day operations of District warehouse
„h Establish and maintain records of requisitions, shipping invoices, running inventories, deliveries, etc.
„h Determine storage space and requirements, optimum stock quantities, and proper methods of stock control and storage
„h Conduct periodic and annual inventories of all supplies and materials stored in District warehouses
„h Inspect incoming stock for conformity to purchase orders and packing lists, reporting discrepancies, re-packing and shipping back to suppliers as necessary
„h Receive, mark, and store items, determines items to be inventoried, and record this process
„h Prepare reports and assist the Purchasing Agent with various activities as they relate to warehousing and inventories
„h Load and unload trucks
„h Perform all other duties as assigned
Desirable Qualifications
Knowledge of: Methods used in receiving, storing, issuing, and keeping records of supplies and equipment;
warehouse procedures, requisitions, purchase orders, invoices and delivery slips, and the use and meaning of each; supplies associated with and used by various school departments; proficient skills in various computer programs; First Aid and CPR.
Abilities
Read and write at a level sufficient to perform required duties. Understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Establish and maintain accurate records and prepare reports. Perform arithmetical calculations accurately.
Meet the physical requirements for performance of assigned duties. Operate a variety of machines and equipment including van, truck, forklift, hand-trucks, furniture dollies, platform dollies, pallet jack, duplicating machine. Establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.
ADA Requirements: Sufficient vision to read printed material, see distant objects with clarity, judge distances and spatial relationships, and identify and distinguish objects. Sufficient hearing to hear conversations in person and on the telephone, and hear sounds clearly up to twenty feet. Ability to speak in an understandable voice with sufficient volume to be heard in normal conversation and on the telephone. Ability to exert up to 70 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. This type of work requires occasional or frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, and kneeling for extended periods of time. Sufficient manual dexterity and/or mobility to grasp and/or manipulate objects, operate mechanical equipment, drive a motor vehicle, and move about the work area. Tolerate exposure to temperature extremes.
Experience
Two years experience in shipping and receiving , warehousing, storekeeping, or stock control work in a responsible position preferred.
Education
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Must be able to pass standard proficiency test of basic knowledge.
Must possess valid and appropriate California drivers license; safe driving record. Ability to obtain a forklift operator certificate within probationary period and maintain during term of employment.
