Essential Responsibilities
- Review previous shift activities and performance and evaluate labor resources required to achieve production schedule.
- Coordinate and lead shift meetings to review safety, quality and performance concerns, general facility announcements and job assignments/rotations with all appropriate personnel.
- Review time and attendance, employee job and machine transactions. Correct transaction errors and provide accurate time sheets to Human Resources.
- Ensure operation of the equipment/tooling by reporting processing issues and initiating maintenance/tooling work requests.
- Input appropriate labor and machine resource exceptions into MRP scheduling system.
- Maintain production work flow by monitoring production processes, equipment and personnel. Perform multiple observations on the shop floor to observe and check for safety issues, product quality, production documentation/records, rate variance, setup activities and areas for improvement.
- Perform job reconciliation and complete job operations in MRP system. Provide reconciled and completed job paperwork to Production Control.
- Relieve machines for employee breaks, training and non-departmental meetings.
- Communicate with Production Control on shop floor and provide status updates to production schedule attainment.
- Complete production shift report and perform daily communication with other shift supervisors and Production Department Manager/Plant Manager.
- Act as emergency coordinator when E&S Specialist or Plant Manager are not on site.
- Communicate, administer and ensure compliance to Company policies, procedures and safety/environmental regulations.
- Perform all work procedures according to established Quality Management & Environmental Management Systems.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Tow Motor, First Aid, CPR, Blue Print Reading, Fire Extinguisher Training
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or managers and employees of organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages and variances. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
