Production Supervisor
Giorgio Foods a leader in the production and distribution of Canned Mushrooms and mushroom related products is currently seeking an experienced Production Supervisor. This individual will assist the manager to achieve the overall goal of this department which is to maintain production uptime and minimize unplanned downtime by leading the site production staff and working with various groups on meeting production deadlines while remaining within established budgets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Possess a thorough understanding and working knowledge of all production processes.
- Assist with establishing and enforcing standards, policies, quality control testing, operating procedures, and inspection of product.
- Accurately document and analyze daily production line reports in a timely manner such as down time, shift reports, waste logs, and labor efficiency reports.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks both short term and long term while keeping the overall company objective in mind.
- Excels in running and planning meetings and feels confident with public speaking.
- Strong tact and communication skills to effectively issue corrective actions.
- Maintains the production areas in a high state of cleanliness.
- Assures Safety Policies are followed. Proactively maintain a safe work environment. Reports and investigates all accidents in a timely fashion.
- Maintain operations in compliance with SOP, GMP, FDA, and other product quality standards.
- Prepares work and production schedules to maximize efficiency of equipment and personnel.
- Coordinates and communicates with various departments and promotes teamwork within organization.
- Ability to prioritize work to meet business needs.
- Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal along with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage the production department in the absence of Production Manager.
- Experience working in a Manufacturing environment.
- Computer Knowledge and ability with Excel and Word is needed.
- Performed other duties as needed.
Education & Experience
- High School or Equivalent preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have at least 4 year’s supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in food manufacturing/packing is preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish Required.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP’s)
- Able to communicate effective and regularly with production employees.
- Maintain professionalism and impartiality fostering a fair and inclusive work environment.
- Strong analytical/critical thinking skills
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak with various levels of personnel.
- Strong Math skills to include the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
- Able to build and maintain professional relationships while ensuring equitable treatment for all team members.
