SUMMARY
Performs day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping department as directed andin accordance with established standards, guidelines, and regulations, toassure the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES include the following :

- Keeps assigned areas of the facility in a clean,safe, sanitary, and tidy condition. Performs duties such as wash, sanitize,polish, sweep, dust, mop, strip, wax, buff, vacuum, extract, stain proof,shampoo, disinfect, deodorize, etc., in resident rooms, hallways, stairways,elevators, entrance / exit ways, recreational and other areas of the facility.Discard waste / trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle withplastic liner.
- Perform regular inspections of resident rooms,bed and equipment for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance ofassigned duties. Report hazardous conditions or equipment to HousekeepingSupervisor and / or Director of Environmental Services.
- Observe and report maintenance repair needs,i.e. bulbs, exit lights, overhead / fluorescent, room call lights, beds, etc..
- Coordinate daily housekeeping services withother departments when performing routine or special cleaning assignments inall areas of the facility to ensure minimal disruption of resident schedule andprogram. Observes and maintains awareness of resident acts / wishes etc., andcontributes, when requested, information for resident care conferences.Schedules may vary at times in accordance with our residents.
- Assure that an adequate supply of housekeepingsupplies are maintained in utility / janitorial closets to perform daily tasks.Cleans and maintains housekeeping equipment and service areas. Assist others inlifting heavy equipment, supplies, etc.
- Communicate with housekeeping, residents,resident families, and other departments.
- Attend / participate in department, staff,in-service classes, on-the-job training programs, as directed or requested.
SUPERVISORYRESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and / orEXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Previoushousekeeping experience desired.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating andmaintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routinereports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure,using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate,ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concretevariables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability tointerpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, orschedule form.
