Brethren Village Retirement Community, in Lititz, PA, is seeking a Grounds Technician for full-time, year-round employment. Brethren Village offers year-round employment on the day shift, Mondays through Fridays, with generous benefits coverage and paid-time-off.
A valid PA driver's license (must have possessed a license for at least the past 2 years), evidence of personal auto insurance, and a driving record free from a serious or excessive motor vehicle violations, including DUI, is required.
The Grounds Technician must be able to stand, walk, lift, reach, bend, kneel, push, and pull frequently during an 8-hour shift; work near plants and shrubs; mow grass; work outdoors in all weather conditions; and safely commute to campus and remain on campus to remove snow during inclement weather.
The Grounds Technician works with a skilled Grounds team to maintain an attractive and safe campus environment at Brethren Village. The Grounds Technician completes a variety of duties depending on the season, including :
- mowing (using a push mower or ride-on mower)
- planting, landscaping, pruning and trimming, raking, and weeding
- cleaning outdoor areas using a pressure washer
- removing snow and ice from campus walkways, parking lots, and streets during winter months, using a shovel or small plow
- safely operating various types of equipment, including lawn mowers, saws, edgers, shears, string trimmers, pressure washer, light or medium tractors with attachments, small plow, skid loader, light or medium weight trucks
