Position Overview:
As a Part-Time Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing payroll processing for our clients, ensuring that their employees are paid accurately and on time. You will also assist with payroll-related tasks such as tax filings, deductions, and compliance with relevant laws. This role is perfect for someone who is looking for flexibility in their work schedule while still making a meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process client payroll on a regular schedule (bi-weekly, semi-monthly, etc.), ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Calculate employee wages, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
- Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
- Prepare and file payroll taxes, including quarterly and year-end filings.
- Assist clients with payroll inquiries and discrepancies.
- Maintain up-to-date records for all payroll transactions and reports.
- Provide support during year-end payroll tasks, including W-2 and 1099 preparation.
- Collaborate with other team members and clients to ensure smooth payroll operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role, preferably in an accounting or finance setting.
- Familiarity with payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- High attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
