Audit Manager (Hybrid) - Top 200 CPA Firm
Brewer Morris is currently working with a Top 200 CPA firm in Irvine, CA seeking a hybrid Audit Manager. The CPA firm has been recognized as a premier accounting, audit, tax, financial advisory and consulting organization. As an Audit Manager you will serve as the engagement lead on specific client accounts, taking responsibility for pre-engagement planning, execution and final deliverables. You will develop detailed engagement work plans, illustrating budgets and schedules. You will develop a thorough understanding of all audit, tax and consulting services provided by the firm, and actively participate in proposals. In managing a team of staff associates, including interns, you will provide regular performance coaching and feedback, while developing individual technical and industry skills. You will gain the respect and confidence of the team through effective client management, timely and accurate communication, and clear and concise direction and leadership.
Responsibilities
• Reviewing financial statements, footnotes, and work papers.
• Demonstrating professional creativity in dealing with client matters and making constructive suggestions to improve client operations.
• Effectively analyzing client transactions, recognizing potential or existing problems, conducting appropriate research, and working closely with managers on resolving the issue.
• Understanding the purpose of accounting and general ledger recording procedures.
• Performing accounting procedures and/or tax applications in accordance with firm standards and in an accurate, thorough and timely manner, including proposing journal entries to client general ledgers.
• Serving as the Engagement Lead on specific client accounts, taking responsibility for pre-engagement planning, execution, and final deliverable.
• Developing a detailed engagement work plan, illustrating budgets and schedules
• Monitoring project status against the work plan and communicate schedule adjustments to senior managers and/or partners.
• Developing a professional relationship with the client serving as the primary point-of-contact.
Hours
• Working hours in the off/non busy season is 37.5
• The minimum required hours during busy season are 55, most Managers average 60, and occasionally can surpass that if near a deadline/issuance date.
Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree; Master’s degree a plus
• CPA certificate
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of audit software CCH Engagement, ProSystem Fx or other software a plus
