Tax Managing Director (Partner Level)

Brewer Morris is currently working with a Top 100 CPA firm that has multiple offices within the Northeast that is seeking a Tax Managing Director (Partner) to build out their Boston, MA team. The 230 employee mid-size CPA firm is looking for an individual (with or without a book of business) to grow their team in Boston from inception to 20-30 individuals over the next 2 to 3 years.
The Tax Managing Director (Partner) should have a technical background that includes Lead Practice (Compliance and Provisions), ASC 740, Large Multi-National Corporations, Technology, International, and SALT experience.
This role is ideal for someone with a proven track record in business acumen, specifically focusing on the growth of their practice. It is essential that this individual has a strong network of clients and potential clients in the Boston area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic tax planning, compliance, and consulting services to their clients.
- Focus on growing and expanding our practice, with a strong emphasis on business acumen and market development.
- Act as a key contributor to the growth of our firm, collaborating with other partners to achieve our business objectives.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to your team and ensure the delivery of high-quality tax solutions.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, advising clients on their financial strategies.
- Develop and implement tax strategies for clients to optimize their tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Identify opportunities for business development, expand the client base, and generate new revenue streams for the firm.
- Review complex tax returns, including individual, corporate, partnership, international and trust tax returns.
Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in public accounting with a Big 4 firm, a national CPA firm, or a large regional accounting firm.
- Proven expertise in business development and market expansion.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, local, and international tax laws and regulations.
- Commitment to a long-term partnership, with no plans for retirement in the near future.
Hours:
- Working hours in the busy season: 45 to 60 hours max
- Non-busy season: 40 hours
Benefits:
- Base Salary: $250,000 to $400,000 (Based off experience and Book of Business)
- Bonus: 20-30% of Base Salary depending on the year
