Summary :

IT Infrastructure Engineers aid in the design, installation, monitoring, security, support, and maintenance of the company’s infrastructure services and End Points. This includes both on-premises and cloud and covers all aspects of foundational IT services : computers, servers, storage, backups, networks, and security, utilizing both real and virtual servers, storage, and network resources.

Responsibilities :

IT Infrastructure Engineer II :

  • Perform and document procedures for hardware and software setup, installation, upgrades, maintenance, and repair of systems under the IT department's control.
  • Assist in inventory management for IT related devices, organization of IT storage areas, and electronic recycling.
  • Responsible for iOS and Android device configurations, troubleshooting, and utilizing the mobile device management system.
  • Participate in deployment, configuration, and maintenance of IT Infrastructure, including servers, network, and storage
  • Responsible for timely and efficient management of service desk tickets and requests.
  • Install, maintain, and support enterprise resources, including laptops, desktops, tablets, mobile phones, and other devices.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and reporting to analyze hardware and software needs and issues.
  • Utilize tools and scripts to maintain security patches and software versions of end user devices and IT Infrastructure at appropriate levels.
  • Under general supervision, answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming requests for assistance from user experience problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies.
  • Collaborate and work with the IT Enterprise Applications and IT Help desk to resolve advanced issues.
  • Assist in the deployment and configuration of security solutions.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and threats in security and infrastructure.
  • Determine project needs, develop plans, and monitor progress.
  • Independently answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies. Investigate and resolve intermediate-level incidents related to infrastructure.
  • Use and develop diagnostic tools and reports to proactively monitor hardware and software compliance, needs, and issues.
  • Design and implement end point security policies and procedures.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and recommend remediation actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures, infrastructure changes, and improvement.
  • Provide mentorship and conduct training for lower-level engineers and technicians.
  • Represent the team in cross-functional meetings and projects.
  • Assist in the development of documentation and training materials.
  • Take ownership of routine maintenance tasks and system upgrades for on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of disaster recovery plans and backup strategies.
  • Participate in the evaluation and deployment of innovative technologies to enhance the infrastructure environment.
  • Apply best practices for security of services via continual upgrades of software, firmware updates to hardware, security patching of services, and continual review of firewalls for subnets and perimeter services.

IT Infrastructure Engineer III

  • Same duties as IT Infrastructure Engineer II.
  • Additional duties as IT Infrastructure Engineer III : Serve as a subject-matter expert providing guidance to lower-level engineers. Analyze trends in help desk tickets to identify recurring issues and implement preventative measures. Lead initiatives to improve end-user experience and streamline support processes. Collaborate with vendors to resolve hardware and software issues. Lead the implementation of advanced security solutions. Develop and maintain incident response plans for end-point and infrastructure incidents. Collaborate with security analysts to analyze and respond to threats and implement and enforce security policies. Conduct regular security assessments on IT assets. Contribute to the development of security policies and standards. Lead the planning and execution of infrastructure projects, including migrations and system upgrades. Design and implement automation solutions for tasks and workflows. Analyze and optimize the performance of infrastructure components.
  • IT Infrastructure Engineer IV

  • Same duties as IT Infrastructure Engineer III.
  • Additional duties as IT Infrastructure Engineer IV : Develop and implement service level agreements and key performance indicators. Collaborate with IT leadership to align end-user support initiatives with organizational goals. Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance end-user productivity. Provide guidance in the design and execution of security strategies. Collaborate with IT leadership to align security initiatives with business goals. Lead end-point security incident response and investigation efforts. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend strategic investments. Develop and implement strategies for optimizing and scaling infrastructure. Lead the resolution of complex incidents and problems, collaborating with cross-functional teams. Define and enforce infrastructure standards and best practices. Drive continuous improvement initiatives for IT Operations processes and workflows. Represent the organization in Industry Forums and conferences.
  • Education & Credentials :

    IT Infrastructure Engineer II

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or related field and 2 years of related experience or
  • Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or related field or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience
  • IT Infrastructure Engineer III

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or related field and 4 years of related experience or
  • Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or related field and 2 years of related experience or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • IT Infrastructure Engineer IV

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or related field and 6 years of related experience or
  • Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or related field and 4 years of related experience or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical Skills & Competencies :

  • Proficiency with end point deployment tools (i.e., Defender, Endpoint Management Intune / ConfigMgr).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
  • Knowledge of Windows and MacOS desktop support, and Linux installation and support.
  • Experience with active directory, DNS, DHCP, and SFTP support and services.
  • Understanding of security best practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in a scripting language such as Python.
