What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Art Instructor position at Brewster Recreation Department?
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement art lesson plans for students ages 6-14
- Provide guidance and feedback to children to help them improve their artistic skills and creativity
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves through art
- Collaborate with other counselors and staff and staff to integrate art into other Summer Rec activities
- Organize and display student artwork for exhibitions or showcases
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and developments in the field of art education
Requirements:
-Experience working with children
- Previous experience teaching art to students of various age groups
- Knowledge of learning technology and how to incorporate it into art lessons
- Background in camp activities
- Ability to coach sports or lead extracurricular activities related to art is a plus
- Understanding of childhood development principles and how they relate to art education
