POSITION: Library Media Specialist
QUALIFICATIONS: Library Media Specialist Certification.
REPORTS TO
- Principal
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Provides opportunities for reading growth through the media center
- Includes the student body and faculty in understanding the importance of reading
- Works with teachers to increase writing abilities for all students
- Enhances reading and writing opportunities for students
- Provides opportunities for the faculty and students to utilize media in research
- Develops and implements policies and procedures for library media management
- Implements activities using a variety of techniques that utilize instructional time to meet objectives
- Organizes media and equipment to provide accessibility for users
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere
- Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policy, and state and federal rules and regulations

EVALUATION:
- The performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- 187 days - Salary according to appropriate current schedule.
