Overview
The Activity Assistant plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in assisted living and memory care facilities. Duties
- Plan and facilitate a variety of recreational activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
- Assist in the development of individualized activity plans that cater to the unique needs of each resident.
- Provide support during events and activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants.
- Collaborate with caregivers, social workers, and other staff members to coordinate schedules and maximize resident participation.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback on activities to continually improve programming.
- Engage residents in meaningful conversations and interactions to foster connections and enhance their social experience.
- Support residents with memory care techniques to encourage cognitive engagement during activities.
Requirements
- Experience or knowledge in event planning, recreational therapy, or caregiving is preferred.
- Familiarity with memory care practices and dementia care strategies is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules effectively.
- Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to providing high-quality care for individuals with disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with residents, families, and staff members.
