What are the responsibilities and job description for the After School Instructor position at Bricks 4 Kidz?
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Instructor to join our STEAM teaching team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in childhood development and a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment for students. We work with students age 5-11 in the STEAM field using LEGO Robotics A background in LEGO is not neccesary, but appreciated. This role involves working closely with children to enhance their academic skills, promote positive behavior, and encourage personal growth. A Bricks 4 Kidz instructor will work with up to 20 students at a time teaching STEAM education through LEGO Robotics at after school classes. Bricks 4 Kidz Instructor will also host weekend LEGO birthday parties, and teach occassional workshops and events as well as summer camps.
A Bricks 4 Kidz instructor has to go through a Livescan background check, and having a drivers license and working vehicle. This job is completely mobile and held at various school in Alameda and surrounding East Bay Schools.
- Duties
- Utilize effective behavior management techniques to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Incorporate elements of special education as needed to support students with diverse learning needs.
- Engage students through interactive activities.
- Foster a nurturing atmosphere that encourages student participation and confidence in their abilities.
- Encourage curiousity and play by teaching students the fundamentals of engineering using LEGO bricks.
- Teach after school classes, host workshops, host LEGO birthday parties.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Childhood development
- Tutoring or educational instruction
- Camp counseling or childcare experience
- Early childhood education
