Paraprofessionals support teachers in the classroom to ensure high-quality instruction linked to the school and district strategic goals for all students. They provide a rigorous academic environment that actively engages students, create an inclusive environment that addresses the needs of all learners and supports the social / emotional development of the students.

Classroom and individual goals tracked and met
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides assistance to teachers to meet student and classroom needs
Provide instruction to students under the direction of teacher; work with individual students or small groups
Help teachers in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays
Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust, understanding, and respect for the communities in which they identify
Implement and uphold BPA behavior management system that aligns with campus-wide initiatives while developing students’ character and sense of community in the classroom
Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with lead teachers and staff members
Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
Help teachers keep administrative records and prepare required reports
Collect and analyze student data to make effective decisions to maximize achievement
Discuss student’s progress with teachers, counselors, and administrators
Communicate students’ progress with students as needed
Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom
Keep teachers informed of special needs or problems of individual students
Maintain confidentiality
Engage in summer and year-long district, school, and personal learning and development as needed

QUALIFICATIONS
Education : High School Diploma or GED
Experience : Experience in a classroom setting preferred
Knowledge and Skills
Strong collaborating skills
Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment
Ability to work well with children
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
Physical Requirements : Light work : Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move
