Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Administrator, the Therapy Director is to plan, organize, direct and evaluate the rehabilitation program services and personnel. In a manner that supports the goals of The Bridges at Ankeny; while meeting federal and state regulations and state specific practice for Physical, Occupational and Speech Language Pathology. The Therapy Director is to ensure the highest degree of care in accordance with all the laws, regulations, and company standards. maintains a physical, social, and psychological environment which will be conducive to the best interest and welfare of all the residents in conjunction with our core values.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- The Director of Rehabilitation may also be responsible for direct patient care and delivery of therapy services in his/her discipline.
-Demonstrates knowledge of resident's health; oversees and ensures the design and implementation of quality individual and collective resident care treatment, programs, plans and services.
- Closely monitors accrediting/surveying/regulatory body criteria to maintain compliance.
. Meets all submission timelines of reports/records/documentation as required by the state and federal rules
- Program Development:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate therapy programs to meet the diverse needs of patients and the community.
- Ensure programs are evidence-based and adhere to best practices and regulatory guidelines.
- Clinical Oversight:
- Ensure the highest standards of care are met by conducting regular clinical audits, performance evaluations, and monitoring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to create comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Budgeting and Resource Management:
- Prepare and manage the therapy department budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost-effectiveness.
- Identify opportunities for improving operational efficiency and maximizing service delivery.
- Quality Assurance and Improvement:
- Lead quality assurance initiatives, including outcome tracking, patient satisfaction surveys, and process improvements.
- Implement and monitor safety protocols to maintain a secure and healthy environment for both patients and staff.
- Outreach and Community Engagement:
- Engage with the community to promote therapy services and build partnerships with other healthcare organizations.
- Represent the therapy department in interdisciplinary meetings, community events, and other relevant forums.
Qualifications:
- Graduate in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology from accredited school of therapy (required).
- Valid licensure or certification in your respective field, CPR
- One full year in a leadership or management role (required).
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, standards of practice, and quality improvement processes.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and across various departments.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans and programs.
