Who You Are
We are looking for a Director of Consumer Insights to Activation to help put the consumer at the forefront of our decision making. You will be responsible for developing & growing a leading-edge insights capability that supports the diverse needs of our business across channels and categories. You will act as a thought partner to peers across the Bridges’ team and provide customer-driven perspectives to move the business forward.
What You'll Do
- Ability to build out a best-in-class Insights function
- Develop Insights capabilities and processes to support the needs of the business as we scale
- Support the upskilling of our commercial team to ensure the consumer is at the heart of our decision making
- Help us deepen our understanding of our consumers across key brands (attitudes, behaviors, values) to continue to improve the consumer experience across the purchase journey.
- Set the insights agenda and lead the development of the current and future insights roadmap for our portfolio of brands
- Build a deep and nuanced understanding of our current and potential customers across all channels (DTC, Retail, etc.) to identify opportunities and risks for Commercial strategy and physical & digital product innovation and for the overall business
- Help shape positioning and communications strategy for stronger brand campaigns.
- Work in partnership with R&D and Brand leads to validate our innovation strategy and pipeline with consumers.
- Success in leading cross functional collaboration
- Ensure strong cross-functional communication with Brand team, R&D, Digital partners to align efforts with overall company objectives
- Partner with the Analytics team to create a complete portrait of consumer behavior
- Passion for and knowledge of the CPG/Health and Wellness industries
- Monitor industry and consumer trends, competitor activities, and consumer feedback to help shape our strategies and new growth opportunities with new insights
What You Bring
Who We’re Looking For
- Consumer Insights expert with 7 years experience and a diverse insights toolkit (experience with both qualitative & quantitative techniques, social listening, understanding of data analysis/AI tools)
- An individual with a bias of driving insights into action including enhancing creative and brand communications, optimizing brand plans, or generating ideas for innovation or claims
- A champion for insights. Someone who fosters strong relationships across the organization and sets up Insights as a critical input to business decisions
- Deeply insightful, always pushing to ask 2nd, 3rd, 4th order questions to find differentiated insights from data and research
- Ability to glean clear, salient ideas from complex information and very clearly communicate them to a diverse set of stakeholders in a way they will understand. Inspires others with your words
- A highly dynamic thinker. Someone who can push insights and drive them into original ideas, while also being a structured, analytical problem solver
- Strong understanding of business operations and passion to play a business role. A demonstrated ability to drive insights into business impact
- Ability to be scrappy and creative with resources to maximize business impact. Not afraid to roll up their sleeves to do work themselves when it makes sense
- A life-long learner with an innate curiosity (always asking “why”). Someone who will challenge conventional wisdom to find the right answer
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and impact decision-making; Willingness to “have an opinion” backed up by insight
- Experience within a CPG company, wellness/health focus is a plus
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field
Professional Experience: 7 years of experience in consumer insights
Role Specific Competencies: Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with ability to convey findings into actionable insights and drive original ideas. Effective communication skills (written and verbal). Must be highly motivated and able to influence stakeholders across the organization. Able to build strong relationships and deeply understand the business.
Special Requirements: Position is based in Chattanooga, Tennessee at Bridges Consumer Healthcare corporate office. Relocation provided.
