What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sonography Clinical Coordinator and Faculty position at BridgeValley CTC?
The Clinical Coordinator/ Instructor for the Cardiac Sonography program will be responsible for assisting with coordinating clinical education assignments with didactic assignments as determined by the Sonography Program Chair. Clinical education progress and effectiveness will be evaluated through regularly scheduled visits to the clinical education sites. Responsibilities include instruction, and evaluation.
Communication with the students, clinical partners, Sonography Department Chair, Dean, faculty, staff, and clinical partners. The instructor will uphold the mission and goals established by the Sonography department as well as BridgeValley Community and Technical College.
This is a full-time, 9-month faculty position. The 9-month salary range for this position is 40,000-45,000. Actual offer will be commensurate with education and experience.
- Providing instruction in classroom, lab, and clinical sites
- Participating in securing clinical site rotations and helping maintain relationships through open communication
- Participating in student advising and counseling.
- Evaluating student learning academically and clinically
- Participating in recruitment and selection of students.
- Participating in program evaluation/assessment and development
- Participating in professional development activities.
- Adheres to the goals, policies, and mission of the Sonography Program as well as BridgeValley CTC
- Attends faculty meetings
- Maintains compliance with rules and regulations of JRC-DMS and CAAHEP Participates in professional development
- Acts as a liaison between the Sonography Program and BV faculty and staff, other colleges and universities, area public schools, clinical affiliates and members of the community
- Participates in recruitment and retention of sonography students
- Participates in marketing of Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- Assists with the selection of new sonography students
- Assists with student recordkeeping
- Provides leadership, guidance, and support to students
- Assists with the preparation of the student clinical schedule
- Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervision of students in the clinic is required.
The Clinical Coordinator/Instructor of the Cardiac Sonography must posses sat the minimum, the following:
- Associate’s degree in Sonography or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- The equivalent of two-years full-time professional experience as a cardiac sonographer, time is defined as 35hoursperweek
- Proficiency in teaching methodology, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and guidance
- Appropriate credential(s) specific to the concentrations offered, such as RDCS or RCS and RVT
- Demonstrate experience as a clinical or didactic instructor in general, cardiac, pediatric, and or vascular technology
